HOTEL DE L'OCEAN, BIARRITZ, is a 3 star boutique hotel with 26 rooms on two floors, many of them with beautiful sea views from the balcony. Recently refurbished in a simple and cosy Atlantic style, the décor is a harmonious marriage of stripped wood, embroidered textiles and cushions in flowered or striped fabrics.
Each room is unique. The furnishings are constantly changing, depending on the owners’ inspiration and favourites of the moment. There are linens by Lexington, lighting and decorative items from are Asa or Pomax, some with a ‘distressed’ finish for that seaside ambience. If you love this style, the hotel has a small shop where you can indulge, or unearth a few pretty household objects to take home with you as a souvenir.
